We should begin practicing good skin care habits early - in our teen years. But you're really never too old to start and maybe turn back the hands of time a little bit. What is our body's largest organ? It's our skin, and it's also the one that is most visible. Most people don't often think of it as an organ - but instead think of it as what people see when they look at us. We also tend to think of it as something that protects and holds together our bodies. Skin ProblemsOur skin ages along with us, and many folks do all they can to fight it. Others have acne problems that bring their self-esteem down to zero. Though there's no perfect solution to these problems, good skin care is always a great start. I remember getting a basic skin care product when I was in sixth grade, during health class. This was when we learned more about our changing bodies and how to take care of our skin. Many kids were about to discover acne firsthand - which is usually most prominent on the face, and that is why so many worry about it. Some people believe that acne is the result of the foods we eat like fats and chocolate, but that is not the case - it's often related to hormones. Although good skin care can't cure or prevent acne, it can help to lessen the condition. Care For Your Skin On A Regular BasisKeeping your face clean is always the keystone of good skin care. You should be sure to clean your face at least twice a day in order to fight off some acne. It won’t stop all of it, but it will help. Proper skin care also helps to prevent premature aging. Most young people in their teens and early twenties don’t give this much thought. But those who keep their skin clean and use a moisturizer every day will have better and younger looking skin going through their twenties and thirties. Once you get into your forties, your skin care will need to be more intense, but a good foundation helps all the way up through the decades. Caring for your skin doesn't have to cost a lot, but you do have to find the right products that will work for you. You need to know if you have oily, dry, or combination skin, and you also have to think about things like heredity and lifestyle. If you have sensitive skin, your products are going to be different than for someone that does not. It's great to experiment with different types of products until you find good skin care items that work well for you, and that keep your skin looking fresh and clean. Having great skin makes you feel good all over. Remember that good skin care is a habit that needs to be practiced your whole life. Keep your face clean and moisturized and don't get too much sun.
